Development Focus Among Age Groups

12 and Under:

FUN-DAMENTALS: The most important component at the ages 6 through 12 is TECHNIQUE! Our Coaches focus on teaching players the proper technique in dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting and heading. Without proper technique we cannot move forward to the next, most important component, and that is TACTICS! At the earliest stages the Fever staff works hard in building individual skills, improve footwork/ball control and confidence on the ball. Developing touch is a relationship between the player and the ball. Our focus in these ages will be technique, individual and small group tactics. Learning Positions and team shape or functional play is not as important.

13 and 14 years:

At this stage, individuals have improved their technique, skills and individual/small group tactics. Players will now enter large field and play 11v11. Our Directors and Head Coaches work together in introducing large field tactics. This is what separates the FEVER from other clubs. A quote from a college Coach, "The Fever Academy teaches, develops and better prepares players for the high level programs. As a college Coach it is important that we receive a higher sophisticated player that is all ready prepared for the College game. We always look to the Fever they know what it takes and does a great job in preparing such players."-Dave Korn, Wright State University.

15-18 years:

At this stage, individuals have an understanding of large group tactics, we work on developing more advanced tactics and the mental aspects of the game. This helps them to be mentally stronger individuals and physically stronger to better endure the demands of the game and showcase our players in the highest level of competition.
