The multinational conglomeration has established fully owned subsidiary companies in more than 30 countries around the world. Some of these companies include QNET International Romania that invests in IT, QNET Ltd that invests in computer software, and the Executive Centre that invests in real estate.
Vijay also led QI Group in venturing into the education sector about a decade ago when it opened the Quest International University Perak (QIUP) in Perak State of his native country of Malaysia.
In March of 2015, the then editor in chief of Entrepreneur Middle East, Mr. Aby Sam Thomas, sat down with the great Vijay Eswaran for an interview. During the interview, he discussed his entrepreneurial journey, leadership, and personal life among other things.
According to Vijay Eswaran, nothing came easy for him. During his early entrepreneurial days, Malaysia and the greater Asian continent was experiencing arguably the most serious wave of economic instability. Secondly, the young Vijay was venturing into a field that he had no connections at all.
These factors were against his success but thanks to his supportive wife and equally ambitious partners, he was able to withstand the tides until he succeeded. Vijay believes that success and challenges are like two faces of a coin: they go together. Success and failure in business, on the other hand, both travel on the same path according to him.
Asked about the future of QI Group, Vijay said that plans were underway for the construction of QI City. According to reliable sources, the city will be complete by next year. Upon completion, the Quest International University Perak will be moved there from its current temporary campus in Ipoh city.
On top of that, QI City will have residential blocks both for leasing and for students as well as a hospital.
