Fighting for The Rights of Others

Around the globe there are numerous groups that are trying to make a difference in the world. Every day these groups fight and advocate for civil and human rights. Their work is not always easy and often goes without notice however it makes a difference in the world around them. These groups often do their work for little to no pay or reward but simply out of a passion to help their community.

The number of groups doing this work are numerous. The International Migrants’ Rights Advocacy is one of the most well known groups that works for migrant rights. This group has been working for more than 20 years has worked tirelessly to increase the voice and role of migrants in the international world.

They world everyday to help fight for this goal. Then there is the well known NAACP. For years this organization has been focused on he protection of the civil rights of African Americans and other minorities. The are many people working hard to make a difference through groups just like this.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are two people that know a thing or two about working for others rights. This pair is responsible for the The Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund. This organization has a history of supporting groups that fight for the rights of all people.

They also work hard so that all citizens can have freedom of speech. In particular The Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund focuses on the Hispanic community which has dealt with quite a bit of racial and civil rights abuses in Arizona.

Both Lacey and Larkin are dedicated to their cause. Co-founders of Phoenix New Times and Village Voice Media, the pair recently gave more than $3.75 million dollars won from settlement to help fund migrant rights organizations throughout Arizona. Lacey and Larkin founded their group village voice media back in 1970. Through their organization that have made a tremendous impact in the Arizona community. These men are so dedicated that they have even been willing to be arrested for their cause.

After years of working for other, Lacey and Larkin are more passionate than ever. They continue to fight for the rights of those in the Arizona area and across the nation.
