I’m After Messi Record, Ronaldo Says

After winning Ballon d’OR for the second year running, Cristiano Ronaldo now says his focus is to better Messi’s record. The Real Madrid forward beat Barcelona’s Messi and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neur.

Ronaldo has now won the trophy three times. He first won the trophy when he was playing for Manchester United. The Portuguese start helped his Country qualify for the world cup and Real Madrid to win UEFA Champions League. The forward has also helped his club to win the Club World Cup.

Ronaldo now believes that he can better Messi’s record of four Ballon d’OR awards. When asked about his favorite goal, the forward replied that the next goal is always important. Ronaldo scored 17 goals as Real Madrid won a record 10th Champions League title. Meanwhile, Messi score four goals as Argentina reached the 2014 World Cup final but his country was defeated by Germany in the finals.

During the awards, the World Cup winning coach Joachim Low was voted the best coach beating Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti and Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone. Ancelotti led Real Madrid to the Champions League final and won the trophy while Diego Simeone was the coach of the losing side Atletico Madrid. Simeone also led Atletico Madrid to the La Liga title. James Rodriguez beat Stephanie Roche and Robin Van Persie to win the best goal of the year after his strike in the World Cup 2014.
