Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez was the hero as he hit the winning goal in a pulsating game between Barcelona and Real Madrid, the BBC reports. Suarez was forced to watch the opening games of this season for Barcelona after being banned for biting an opponent during the 2014 World Cup. However, after arriving int he starting lineup for Barcelona, the Uruguayan striker hit the winner in a 2-1 victory that saw the Catalan giants move four points clear at the to of La Liga.
TCMSP reports that Barcelona had begun the game in dominant form and took the lead on 19 minutes after Suarez won a free kick on the edge of the Madrid area that was headed home by French defender Jeremy Mathieu. Christiano Ronaldo equalized for Madrid before Suarez hit the winner after 56 minutes. Goals for both teams mean that neither team has failed to score in the last 18 games between the two Spanish giants.
